P3PPER’S designs are produced using the most advanced 3D printing technology in the highest quality materials. Our manufacturing process gives us the unique opportunity to design products for an increasing catalogue of material choices.

MATERIALS THAT WE WORK WITH

+ STERLING SILVER

Extensively hand-polished to a fine sheen and shiny finish. It is perfect for jewellery and precious products. Sterling Silver is a standard alloy for jewellery purposes and is safe to wear on your skin. Please use a polishing kit to maintain a glossy surface.

Solid Sterling Silver, made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper.
Lost-wax casting technique, where the original wax model is first printed using a 3D printer.
From there a mold is made around the wax, before it is melted and filled with solid silver, creating the product.

Yes, we have our own P3PPER’S maker’s mark which is registered and held at the London Assay Office. This guarantees the purity/fineness of the metal. For more information hallmarks, read our Hallmarks guide.

+ SOLID GOLD

All Gold products go through extensive hand-polishing to give them a smooth, shiny finish. Gold can be maintained with most non-abrasive cleaners.

14k Gold consists of 58% Gold, 31% Copper, 10% Silver, and 1% Zinc.
14k Rose Gold consists of 58% Gold, 40% Copper, 1% Silver, and 1% Zinc.
14k White Gold consists of 58% Gold, 24% Copper, 9% Zinc, and 9% Nickel.
18k Gold consists of 75% Gold, 10% Copper, and 15% Silver.

The material is a 14k or 18k solid gold. It is solid gold mixed with an alloy for hardening for longer wear.
Wax 3D printing and lost-wax casting are used to fabricate gold models.

+ RHODIUM & 18K GOLD PLATED BRASS

Rhodium Gold Plated Brass products are cast in brass and hand-polished to a fine sheen before plated with .5mm of the precious metal of choice. A nanocoatingon is applied on top of the precious plating to provide additional protection to the plating. However, this nano-coating will rub off with time and wear.

Plated Brass is very durable, but can still scratch or wear through. Prolonged surface wear can rub off the finish. To prevent damage, we recommend storing your item in a soft cloth pouch away from other products, and avoiding exposure to household chemicals and cleaning products.

Wax 3D printing, lost wax casting and plating are used to fabricate gold plated brass models. Each product goes through two plating steps – first a layer of palladium is applied to provide strength and durability. Then the selected precious metal plating provides the finishing touch.

+ TITANIUM

Titanium is a hypoallergenic metal which makes it perfect for jewelry if have a metal allergy or sensitive skin. It is a very strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant material with a slightly reflective satin gray finish.

Titanium, made of 88-90% titanium, 5.5-6.75% aluminum, and 3.5-4.5% vanadium.

Metal 3D Printing – also known as Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Select Laser Melting (SLM) – is used to fabricate titanium models. From there the model undergoes heat treatment before it is hand-polished to a fine sheen.
